IARAI Director Dr Sepp Hochreiter has been a key player driving the foundation of ELLIS.
The ‘European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems’ will establish a network of excellence connecting top AI researchers in Europe, and will run an International PhD Programme to train upcoming talent.
Dr Hochreiter feels that the collaboration through ELLIS will invigorate the field: ‘The European academic community inspired my scientific insights about Deep Learning. ELLIS will support and strengthen the high creative potential of the European scientific community and enable true European leadership based on cutting edge technologies – Deep Learning and beyond!’
ELLIS has been launched at the NIPS conference in Montreal 6 Dec 2018.
