October 24, 2022 at 14:45 in reply to: Paper and Code Guidlines Traffic4cast 2022 (due 1st November 2022) #76682Christian Eichenberger
MemberDear participants,
We’ve just closed the leaderboards for Traffic4cast 2022 per October 24th 12:00 CEST as announced https://www.iarai.ac.at/traffic4cast/forums/topic/leaderboard-submission-deadline-extended-to-october-24-2022/.
The next deadline is already ahead: code and paper submission by November 1st 12:00 CET.
In order for you to guide you in writing these papers and to ensure the quality of the papers, we’ve compiled some guidelines and suggested ToC and some hints on the content we’d like to find. Note that you are free to modify this structure according to your needs, but we hope you find it useful: https://github.com/iarai/NeurIPS2022-traffic4cast/blob/main/blogposts/20221024_Code_and_Paper_Guidelines.md or above.
Please do also make sure to add all contributors with full name and address details.
We invite all participants above our baselines to publish their code and submit a paper describing their approach. We will give you feedback on your paper and we’re planning to include all successful approaches in the NeurIPS PMLR paper.
Best regards
Moritz & Christian

There is a limit of 5 submissions per team or participant in total. You need to delete some of your submissions before you can upload new submissions (there is a button on the right hand side of the list of your submissions in the submit form).
Happy coding!
Best regards,

Member@felixkaist The notebook fits on a GPU with 40GB. The example is for technical illustration of the dataloader and not a competitive baseline. There are no equipment limitation in the competition – we might give out a Special Prize for Memory/Sample Efficient Models, though. For
london
, the notebook requires1618MiB
for the data only and during training40390MiB
.The data only requires less than 2GB: e.g. 130’000 edges and 60’000 nodes require
(130'000 * 3 + 60'000 * 1)*8 byte (64-bit floats)
, so this should not be a limitation. The challenge will be to find appropriate and memory-efficient models, whether using GNN or other approaches.

Member@oncelf: We’re launching the Analysis and Interpretability Challenge (https://www.iarai.ac.at/traffic4cast/2021-competition/challenge/#analyticschallenge) as part of Traffic4cast 2021, and hence we’ve just reopened the leaderboards and data can be still be used as part of this Analysis and Interpretability Challenge:

Member@oncelf As we do not want to release held out data, we’re looking into keeping the evaluation/leaderboard open after NeurIPS by extending the competition runtime. Keep in mind that the terms and conditions do not allow the use of the competition data beyond the competition end.
