Aleksandra Gruca

Professor in machine learning at the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland. Her research focuses on predictive models and the integrated analysis of large-scale heterogeneous patient proles. In addition she researches statics for challenging data sets (strong correlation structures, high dimensionality, . . . )

Pedro Herruzo

Pre-doctoral research fellow at IARAI and a PhD candidate at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona. His research focuses on rule detection and generalization in deep learning with applications to spatiotemporal data. Previously he worked as a machine learning consultant modeling mobility at SEAT, S.A., and on the explainable AI of lifestyle patterns in egocentric images at the University of Barcelona.

Pilar Ripodas
Pilar Rípodas

Project manager at the EUMETSAT Nowcasting Satellite Application Facility (NWC SAF) and satellite products development at the State Meteorological Agency of the Government of Spain AEMET. She has worked for the AEMET centers in the Canary Islands in CO2 measurements and data analysis at Izaña Atmospheric Research Centre in Tenerife and as forecaster´s support in Gran Canaria. She has also worked at Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) in the group developing the prediction numerical model ICON.

Michael Kopp​

Researcher at HERE Technologies and a director of the Institute of Advanced Research in Artificial Intelligence. His background is in pure mathematics, mathematical modelling in finance and machine learning. Advancing and applying new strands of the latter to solving real world problems currently occupies his interest.

David Kreil​

Director of the Institute of Advanced Research in Artificial Intelligence. He is also a professor at Boku University Vienna, Austria. He runs a bioinformatics research group that focuses on analysing, calibrating, and bench-marking genome-scale quantitative assays.

Sepp Hochreiter​

Director of the Institute of Advanced Research in Artificial Intelligence. He is also the head of the Institute for Machine Learning and the LITAI Lab and a professor at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Austria.

Xavier Calbet
Xavier Calbet

Science coordinator for the EUMETSAT Nowcasting Satellite Application Facility (NWC SAF) and the State Meteorological Agency of the Government of Spain AEMET. He has worked with EUMETSAT in Darmstadt specializing in atmospheric profile retrievals obtained from hyper-spectral sounding instruments, such as the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer, and planning for the future geostationary hyperspectral sounding mission MTG-IRS. He has also worked as a state meteorologist at AEMET.

Llorenç Lliso
Llorenç Lliso

Physicist who works as a meteorologist at the State Meteorological Agency of the Government of Spain AEMET. His work focuses on the software development and maintenance for satellite data processing, data interoperability, and OGC data diffusion. Previously, he worked as a mathematics teacher.
